  • Dr. Nancy Isbell, DVM

    Dr. Nancy Isbell, DVM

    Since graduation in 1983 from Washington State University, Dr. Nancy's career has taken her through an Internship, and her Residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts University. She has worked with chimpanzees and tiger cubs, done teaching and clinical research. But her heart is with her patients in practice. Dr. Nancy is certified in acupuncture by IVAS, and carries a Diploma in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine. She spent 15 years in Port Orchard before establishing her practice in Belfair in 2007. Dr. Nancy blends her knowledge from her Internal Medicine training with the arts of Chinese medicine to provide a truly integrated therapy, along with diet and nutritional support.  Dr. Nancy lives with her hiking companion Border Collie Oden and The Magnificent Darth (cat).

  • Dr. Amanda Silverberg, DVM

    Dr. Amanda Silverberg graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She completed her internship at Florida Veterinary Specialists and has also done intensive training for acupuncture on small animals through the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine. She combines her knowledge of traditional medicine with that of dietary and nutritional support with Tradition Chinese Medicine practices to provide innovative and passionate care for her patients. Dr. Amanda and her husband have a cat named, Tigra and a pup named Pip.

  • Dr. Shawn Thomas, DVM

    Born and raised in the suburbs of Des Moines, IA, he first got interested in working with animals during the summer of 2001, thanks to Steve Irwin (“The Crocodile Hunter”, rest his soul).

    He went to Iowa State for his undergraduate degree.  While there, he did an internship at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, FL.  There he met his beautiful wife, who hailed from Puyallup.  

    He moved back to Ames, IA for vet school in 2008.  Since then he has adopted the two greatest cats in the world (Anakin and Phoenix), became focused on small animal general practice, developed an interest in dentistry and small animal surgery, had the most beautiful baby boy on the planet (Ben), and moved to Washington.

  • Dr. Alicia Finger DVM

    Dr. Alicia is originally from the suburbs of Syracuse NY, and grew up riding horses and volunteering at the local shelter which is how she became interested in veterinary medicine. 

    Dr. Alicia received a BA in Biological Sciences and a Minor in Environmental Resource Management from Binghamton University while on an athletic scholarship in Track and Cross Country.   After graduation, she moved to Northern New York and worked as an assistant herdsman on a large dairy farm for almost a year until deciding to go back to veterinary school with interests in mixed animal medicine.

    During her rigorous studies at the University of Missouri, she was employed by the Emergency and Critical Care team as an assistant on nights and weekends to gain more experience.  After graduating with her DVM, Dr. Alicia’s interests changed from mixed to small animal medicine as she became more compassionate for the human animal bond that small animal medicine is centered around.

    She recently moved to the west coast as a longtime dream of hers has been to get “out west.”  Dr. Alicia has three pets and an amazing human companion, named Ryan. Together they share two dogs, German Shepard Huxley and Lab mix Byron, and a kitty named Arthur.  In her spare time she is out hiking the beautiful surrounding trails, biking, camping or running.  She also loves to travel and meet new people.

  • Dr. Brandon Gates

    Dr. Brandon Gates was born at Fort Sill Army Base in Oklahoma, but spent his formative years in Texas. He became interested in working with animals at a young age after the tragic loss of his family pet while his father was overseas for Desert Storm. Dr. Gates spent two years working at small animal clinics as a veterinary technician prior to veterinary school. Dr. Gates also worked at several cow-calf ranches and interned with a local dairy practice prior to veterinary school.

    Dr. Brandon Gates earned his Bachelors of Animal Science, then his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. After graduation, he  completed an internship in Livestock Medicine and Surgery at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Gates also trained as a resident in Theriogenology (animal reproduction) working on livestock, horses, and small animals.

    Dr. Gates enjoys working with all species, but is most passionate about companion animals, especially working dogs. In his spare time he enjoys spending time outdoors, playing the drums, fly fishing, hiking, and exploring. His wife, K.C., is also a veterinarian and they have three children (ages 6, 4, and 1), three dogs, two horses, and hope to add chickens and goats within the next year.

  • April - Office Manager

    April has been in the veterinary field since 1993, starting out as a kennel assistant for a clinic in Gig Harbor while in high school. She served in the US Army as a veterinary technician for 4 years stationed in MD. She joined Belltowne Veterinary Center in August 2009 and became the office Manager in October 2015. Her favorite part of the veterinary field is the human animal bond.

    April and her husband Paul have 1 cat, 3 dogs and a couple fish tanks. April actively participates in flyball with the Cascade Comets, with her 3 dogs; Rossi- Jack Russell, Indi- Border Collie, and Mac- Terrier/ Poodle Mix. April also likes to run, hike, camp, garden and ride motorcycles. 

  • Cara - Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Cara was born in Vancouver, Canada. She moved to the United States in 1997. In 2004, she became a license veterinary technician. Cara and her husband, Chris, live on a Hobby Farm with 6 dogs, 3 cats and an array of farm animals. She has graced us with her knowledge and great skills at Belltowne Veterinary Center since 2010.

  • Riley - Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Riley grew up with a passion for animals which fueled her dreams of working in the field of veterinary medicine, and she has now been a licensed veterinary technician since 2014. Riley has lived in good ‘ol Mason County since a baby and still loves the view to this day. In her spare time she enjoys being outside/ camping, photography, and going crazy with her two energetic pups and her goofy boyfriend Tyler. 

  • Kendara - BS Environmental Science, Licensed Veterinary Technician, Licensed Small Animal Massage Practicioner

    Kendara has worked in the veterinary field since 1995 and got her veterinary technician's license in 2009. She joined Belltowne in 2011. She and her husband, Tim, live on a small hobby farm in Allyn with 4 dogs, 6 cats, 2 llamas, and multiple sheep, chickens, a rabbit and a tortoise.   In her "free" time, she enjoys reading, knitting, gardening, hiking and spending time with her animals.

  • Melissa - Dr. Nancy's Veterinary Assistant

    Melissa joined Belltowne in 2007, helping to move the clinic from the old log cabin location to the current one. She now works as Dr Nancy's assistant exclusively. Melissa is largely to credit for making sure that Dr Nancy gets off work on time, by helping with her appointments, helping to manage her schedule, helping with her phone calls, and anything else that Dr Nancy needs. If you make an appointment with Dr Nancy,  you are sure to cross paths with Melissa.
    What Melissa loves best about her job, is dentistry and x-rays (esp dental x-rays). Give her a good dental and that will make her day!
    Her personal interests are spending time with her many grand kids, camping, and drag racing. She has 3 chihuahuas, a cat, 4 chickens, and a fish.
  • Hollyann - Veterinary Assistant

    Hollyann has been in the Veterinary field for over 13 year. She joined Belltowne's team in 2010. She is always busy, assisting in surgery, blood draws and miscellaneous hospital treatments. Since the beginning Hollyann also has taken on the Assistant Manager position, working hard to keep the hospital running smoothly.  When she is not at Belltowne, Hollyann enjoys being with her Husband who is in the US Navy and keeping busy with her daughter.  She also has a couple fur babies; a dog Scout and a cat Damara.  When time allows, she enjoys horseback riding, camping and hiking.  We are so thankful Hollyann chose Belltowne. 
  • Hannah -Veterinary Assistant

    Hannah has lived in Allyn, Washington all her life and she enjoys reading, photography, horseback riding and hanging out with her family and friends, that also includes her 4 American pit bulls Kojak, Mieko, Outcast and Rain. Hannah has worked at Belltowne Veterinary Center since 2010, first as a receptionist and now a veterinary assistant. Her love for animals really shines through!
  • Liza - Receptionist

    Liza joined our Belltowne team in 2009 and has been in the vet field since 1999. 
    She is known for her care, compassion and concern for all pets. 
    Her favorite pastime revolves around her own pets (2) canines Fred and Darren, (2) 3 legged cats, I-Lean, and Jack, and (2) 4 legged brother cats Coal and Edward. 
    Customer relations, receptionist and the occasional back room assistant along with her ability to multi task and assist in many facets of providing the best to all of our patients and their 2 legged parents.
    Liza and her husband, Doug met in 1994. They have been married since 1995 and currently reside in Manchester. 
  • Kaylyn - ACP

    Kaylyn has been with Belltowne Veterinary Center since 2014.  She loves seeing all the different breeds of dogs and cats.  Kaylyn has a son named Charlie and is currently engaged!  She has 2 furry family members, a mixed breed dog named Sid and a cat named Cheezie.  In her spare time she loves going 4 wheeling/mudding in 4x4 trucks, riding quads, camping, going to drag races and spending time at home with the family watching movies. 
  • Lauren - Assistant

    She joined Belltowne in the spring of '17, bringing with her almost 10 years of on the job experience and, thanks to her mother who was also in veterinary medicine, almost her lifetime of gained knowledge and experiences. She has 2 rambunctious dogs, one foot attacking cat, one pretty bird and of course an adorable gecko with orange eyelashes! Some of her favorite aspects of medicine include holistic and alternative treatments. In her downtime she enjoys yoga, hiking, hula hooping and basically anything outdoors and active! In her off time you'll often find her on the lake with her boyfriend Kevin trolling around searching for monster bass!!! Well, Kevin's searching, Laurens laying back enjoying the sunshine!
  • Alyson - Dr. Shawn's Assistant

    I attended Pima medical institute and graduated with a Veterinary assistant certificate. and started working for Belltowne in April. I always knew I wanted to work with animals, as a child I would always bringing home animals to "rescue" . from birds, cats reptiles and even a pig. I have a beautiful German Shepard mix. I love hiking, and traveling and music festivals and having doggie play dates with my girl friends.
  • Leslie-Anne - Receptionist

    Leslie, started at Belltowne Veterinary Center in July of 2015 as a receptionist.  She has worked at various vet clinics and other pet related jobs since 1999. She currently has 3 cats of her own (Lily, Sequoia, and Trigger).  She also loves reptiles and has had many in the past and has plans to add some to her family.   In her free time she loves to be outdoors playing with her daughter. Washington State is the best place for hiking and camping which is something that she loves to do.   Leslie has loved her time as a member of the Belltowne Veterinary Center Family.

  • Cherise - Receptionist

    Cherise is one of our wonderful receptionists/kennel workers and has been working at Belltowne since 2016.  When she is not caring for animals at work, she is caring for her own at home; Diesel and Shelby the Dobermans, Link and Zelda the cats, and several chickens.  In her spare time she enjoys crocheting, gardening, kayaking, and pursuing her Veterinary Technician License.  She also pet sits for numerous families in the area.

  • Tiffany - Assistant

    Tiffany has always been fascinated by animals. She has jumped back and forth from living in Washington and Oregon but has had her hand in the veterinary field in one way or another since 2006. She recently moved to the Mason County with her husband Nick, their 2 dogs (Ziva and Lexi) and 2 cats (Dizzle and Reeper). She really loves her new home and plans on being in the area for the long haul. She enjoys reading and outdoor activities like gardening, hiking, swimming, and just exploring/making trails in their woods.
  • Kristina - Kennel Assistant

    Kristina has been at Belltowne for a little more than two years as a kennel assistant. Her job is keeping the clinic clean and helping restrain pets for their treatments. She loves giving peanut butter to the puppies and taking care of the dogs and cats that visit throughout the day. On her down time she raises sheep for wool and meat and also loves taking the sheep and mini horse she has to shows. Making yarn and other wool based crafts are things Kristina also enjoys.

  • Aubrey - Dr. Alicia's Assistant

    Aubrey has been in the veterinary care for about 2 years now, Belltowne being her first clinic. Aubrey has always been interested in the field since she was a little girl; she has always had a passion for helping those who cannot help themselves. Born abroad to a military family, Aubrey moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest when she was 4. She did the running start program, finishing her high school career with college courses. Aubrey completed a bachelor degree in zoology from Washington State University and moved back to western Washington. She has been with Belltowne Veterinary Center since August 2015, starting as a kennel assistant and working her way up to a veterinary assistant. Aubrey has 4 cats with her other half, John-Michael: Gatsby, Akila, Scribbles, and Fraya. When Aubrey is not at work, she is at home curled up on the couch with her cats or pursuing a degree in veterinary technology. 

  • Kathi - Dr. Amanda's Assistant

    Kathi came to work at Belltowne in 2013. Having worked with Border Collie and horse rescue for many years, she volunteered at the clinic and felt and instant connection. Fortunately so did the staff and she has been here ever since. She is now Dr Amanda's assistant, caring for all of her clients and assisting in surgery. She lives with her husband and two kitties, Tiri and Debbie.
  • Carol - Dr. Brandon's Assistant

    Carol has been with Belltowne Veterinary Center since 2014. Growing up on a farm started her lifelong dream of working in the veterinary field. 
    Carol & husband Robert have been married for 19 years and enjoy their home with a handsome German Shepherd, Maazi, a kitty, Boris, and 3 chickens, Joan Jett, Hazel, & Alice. 
    Carol and her family love gardening, hiking, camping, cycling, reading, and of course spending time with family.
